She's Bella Marie
01:54
|
|||
riding in my car
getting really far
doggie in front seat
boy she's really neat
head out the window wind in her face
passenger seat is her favorite place
i love her
i want her
she's the best damn dog around
she's neat and petite and loves me when i'm down
when bruno comes over they like to take over
and make fun of the beings that don't believe in love
she's bella marie
fuzzy little feet
always licks the street
cutest little nose
loves to lick my toes
she's cozy when she sleeps
rests her head on my feet
the waggin' of her tail
proves without fail
that she loves me
she needs me
she's the best damn dog around
she's neat and petite and loves me when i'm down
when bruno comes over they like to take over
and make fun of the beings that don't believe in love

Nothing Left
02:12
|
|||
from this side of the road here it's me and nobody else
like when cameron said he wanted out of this
he was swearing that he didn't care
now why don't you worry about my attitude ma when you're spread out "about to" on the bed?
i'll tell you why
'cause there's nothing left t
here ain't nothing left
so come on inside here and pour yourself a little bit of this shit
you'll be swinging around at everything down and overhead
and when you come out of it you'll swear that everything is changing
but nothing's changed

Now Now There There
03:22
|

he leaves the porch light on when you're not there
he likes to play with the bows in your hair
when he touches your back you get the chills yeah
even in the sack he's got the skills yeah
when you're far from feeling alright
and you're doing your best to not start crying
"now now, there there," he says "now now, there there.”
when you're sunk and you're bummed and can't even get up
and all your tears come out in a flood
"now now, there there." he says "now now, there there, baby"
he takes the time to say "you look beautiful"
and "how was your day?" and "that's wonderful."
and if you stub your toe he rubs it yeah
and if you overflow he plungers it
now now there there
he's got it all
let the tears come out

The Waves
03:19

she was playing my guitar with her engagement ring
slipped it off, held it up, asked "is this happening?"
we were in the sand right up to our knees
she turned to me, i turned to her, she said "Pete, say something"
i said "stacie girl, that rings says he's not playing
i am so stoked i love you both" but this is what i felt like sayin'
let the waves
let the waves crash over me
let the tide come in wash me then go back again
we were walking back on the sandy beach
she let her hand hang out her back right there for me to reach
as i grabbed it i almost said the words
that i have tried so many times just to say to her
pushed her hair right from her ear
squeezed her hand kicked the sand and said it loud and clear
let the waves
let the waves crash over me
let the tide come in wash me then go back again

there are so many things that i wanted to tell you
but you never would listen that's the reason i fell you
you wanna come home
but you won't cause
you gotta go back
to get drunk
so fuck you
so sad
one time left and you're gonna use it up
the sun comes in for the bigger beggar
nobody wants it
nobody but you
go home babe go home go home go

One...Two...Bleed
04:52
|
|||
even in our motion we are motionless
his words lay in her head
and after class
he walked her back
and motioned to her bed
no no don’t touch
it hurts too much
just put your head right here
now count to three my dear this wont hurt a bit
one day where the sun goes
will be so low it will not rise up again
he made a motion like the ocean
and the star that lies within
his hands move slow
her eyelids close
the tide will set you free just ride it out on three
one two three
just let the dark come in somebody

The Son
05:23
|

Somewhere a boat is changing it’s course
a force on the rise is now sinking
and those who have failed are taking it over
those sober have takin’ to drinking
now ma in her kerchief and i in my flask
we’ve asked god to give us an answer
and sure as I stand he’s written it clear
on the heel of a flamenco dancer
the audience cheered
as the ink smeared
but we handled it fine for the wine made the scene disappear somewhere a girl stands in a mirror
it appears her whole face has been painted
and a hairbrush holds a magazine open
and she’s hoping she’ll soon seem untainted
there is her daddy outside the door
she ignores all his yelling and knocking
with every stroke that slides across her lips
she slips from his arms into nothing
now he’s given up
and she’s growing up
daddy ya can’t hold close what’s supposed to open up
one day the son is going to rise
with eyes the color of his father’s
his chin to the skies his feet on the ground
his arms ‘round our sons and our daughters
leaning in close all ears erect
we’ll detect through his words that we’re cowards
and soon we will have to surrender this land
and hand back these faces we’ve borrowed
now these words that he’ll say
might make sense one day
but now they’re unclear
and with fear we will all turn away
somewhere a girl is writing a letter ‘
cause it’s better than bashing her head in
darkness slides on the paper and grows
and she knows it will win if she lets it
just as a boy is reading her words
it occurs to him love is a fire
and though it is bright and warm it has burned
and turned this young girl to a liar
well we are that boy and we are liars
love is the sun and the sun is on fire
and it’s sparks are what heal
but here we are standing all in the shade
curtains are drawn
plans have been made in the dark
and it feels like nothing will change and nothing will grow
and we’re standing together feeling alone
and it won’t mean a damn
if one day I cried and you grabbed my hand
and whispered “ I know I understand”
cause you don’t understand
no one understands

Stacie
gonna hit the floor
get her groove on till her feet get sore
i just might have to tap dat ho
if this skirt i see through sees me home
all night long until the break of dawn
with a tan bandanna and a lacy thong
movin' groovin' to that crazy song
a million unborn children can't be wrong
turn around now turn around again
face down on the kitchen floor
same clothes as the day before
i just might have to yell for help
'cause i'm never gonna reach that fuckin' door
all night long until the break of dawn
with a tan bandanna and a lacy thong
movin' groovin' to that crazy song
where the fuck did everything go wrong
turn around (yeah) now turn around again (oh yeah)

I am a filmmaker who sometimes makes records. Garageband, an out -of-tune guitar and bad singing sums it up. But I try to make up for it in other ways, like with anger and reverb.
